Arab gets the victory when game is stopped by lightning in 2nd half:

WEST POINT: Arab Lady Knights returned to Marshall County Thursday evening with a 3 to 1 upset of the West Point Lady Warriors in the 1st round of the AHSAA 5A state soccer playoffs.
The match was called with 13:28 remaining when game officials spotted lightning in the Southwest corner of the sky near West Point Stadium.
According to rules, a lightning strike seen within 10 miles of a game facility, prompts a 30 minute delay. Additional strikes extend the delay for safety for the players and spectators.
Gameday Weekly was in attendance with Arab getting a little breathing room by a score at 16:13 of the 2nd half to go up by two goals.
Three minutes later, the match was stopped. This took place at approximately 7:18 p.m. CST.
Showers invaded the stadium with 25 minutes to go in the opening half.
The rain subsided, but dark clouds remained as GDW looked at radar on its cellular device and saw lightning strikes detected by radar near the Addison area in neighboring Winston County.

 Both teams found shelter when officials asked them to leave the field for their safety.
Arab located to the home side of the press box while West Point went inside a building across the road from the stadium.
No injuries were reported once the match went into delay, then was officially declared a contest.
West Point gave up 2 goals in the first half, the first just over 4:00 into the match.
The Lady Warriors were able to produce a goal on a breakaway and narrow the margin to 2 to 1 with 21:44 showing on the clock in the final half.
However, Arab regained the momentum when they scored 5 minutes later.
Arab improved to 12 & 6 on the season with a great year for West Point ending at 13/4/3.
The Lady Warriors were 4/2/2 in playing on the home field.
Arab will meet Guntersville in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Guntersville shut out Fairview 10 to 0 at home Thursday evening.
The date and game time is to be announced.
