Danville BK coach accepts offer to coach at Decatur:

Mastin moves onward after two seasons coaching Danville hoops:

GDW Analysis:
DECATUR: Decatur High School has a new basketball coach.
Benjamin Mastin accepted the offer with the school board approving the hire Tuesday.
Mastin spent the past two years not far from Decatur in Morgan County.
He led the Danville Hawks to 22 victories in the 2023/24 season and a trip to the Elite 8 of the AHSAA 3A playoffs.
Prior to his time on the bench for Danville, Mastin guided the Addison Bulldogs for two seasons.
He handled the school in neighboring Winston County from 2020 until 2022.
Mastin replaces Kori Walker in Decatur. Walker recently left the Red Raiders and is now the head coach up the road at Athens High School.
For Decatur, area hoops will change. The Red Raiders had been in recent time taking on the Cullman Bearcats and Hartselle Tigers.
Hartselle will stay with Decatur as they are part of AHSAA 6A, Area 15.
Athens and Muscle Shoals come on board for it to be a 4 team area and very intense matchups to determine who will be the best.
Danville administration has posted through social media they are now looking to replace Mastin.
The Hawks are moving up to Class 4A as they will be in Area 13 with the Good Hope Raiders, East Lawrence Eagles and West Morgan Rebels.
West Morgan recently had a change in its leadership. The Rebels hired former Vinemont and Cullman coach Bobby Meyer to lead them next season.
