MONTGOMERY: All Star competition is ready to go for the 28th time in the history of this event presented by the Alabama High School Athletic Association.
All Star Sports Week is a week long activity of all star games, plus coaching clinics and award dinners.
Five local players representing three sports will be in the spotlight from the Capitol City.
The games will begin Monday with golf the opener followed by baseball in the late afternoon.
Golf will be held at Arrowhead Country Club. Tee time for both divisions will be at 9:00 a.m. The North and South will play 18 holes.
Will Drake of the Cullman Bearcats will play and will be led by his head coach Jonathan Hayes. Hayes got selected to coach the North linksters in this year's event.
Jazmin Conn from Cullman will get to endure the spotlight for the North after having a good junior year with the Lady Bearcats.
Baseball gets to enjoy Riverwalk Stadium, the home of the Montgomery Biscuits. The North and North will be in a doubleheader with Game 1 to get under way at 4:00 p.m.
Cross country starts the all star schedule for Tuesday.
The North and South will run from Gateway Park. The girls get on the course at 8:00 a.m. and the varsity to follow 30 minutes later.
Casey Howell of 2A state champion Cold Springs is coaching the North unit.
Senior Hayla Watson from Cold Springs will be one of the runners for Team North.
Tennis will be active Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. from Lagoon Park.
For basketball, the annual mid summer series is set to be held at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex.
The girls will see the hardwood with a 5:00 p.m. start.
Good Hope's outstanding shooting guard Ava McSwain has been selected to play for Team North,
The varsity matchup is to tip off at 6:45 p.m..
Cullman's solid scorer, Jake Dorough, got an invitation and will be a part of the North roster.
For Wednesday, softball will present a doubleheader from Lagoon Park at 4:00 p.m.
The soccer games are to be at the Emory Folmar YMCA Complex with the girls playing at 5:00 p.m. and the guys set to battle at 7:00 p.m.
Volleyball will be the finale for the games on Thursday. The encounter will be from the Cramton Bowl Multiplex at 2:00 p.m.
Cold Springs cross country coach Casey Howell and Good Hope girls basketball coach Justin Aby will be recognized for winning AHSAA championships in the 2023/24 season.
Cold Springs won the state titles in girls and varsity cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.
Good Hope had its great run to come home with a first time state title in girls basketball.
Former Addison volleyball coach Pam Wilkins will be honored as she is to be inducted into the Alabama Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Wilkins led the Lady Bulldogs from 2003 to 2015 with the team taking home seven state championships.
Addison won the 1A crown in the first three years of the Wilkins' era.
