Big conference games for Wallace State BB & SB:

Next to last weekend for conference games in the ACCC:

GDW Analysis:
HANCEVILLE: Two weekends remain in the regular season for ACCC baseball and softball.
Wallace State is looking to remain in a position to get to the ACCC baseball tournament the week of May 6 in Oxford.
The same can be said for WSCC softball with the conference tournament that week at Veterans Park in Alabaster.
Going into this weekend in ACCC baseball, the Lions are 16 & 12 in the league, currently 6th out of 10 teams. The top six will make their

way to Choccolocco Park for postseason play.
Shelton leads the ACCC with 21 wins and 7 losses. Snead and Coastal South are a game back at 20 & 8 with Northwest Shoals 4th by a 19 & 9 record.
Southern Union follows NW Shoals in having 18 wins against 10 losses. They are 2 games ahead of Wallace State. In 7th place, 5 games back of the Lions are Chattahoochee Valley at 11 & 17.

 Calhoun, Gadsden and Lawson have been eliminated for having less than 10 wins with 8 games to complete the 2024 schedule.
Wallace State plays Northwest Shoals at James C. Bailey Stadium for a doubleheader Thursday at 2:00 and 4:30. The series will finish out Saturday with a pair of games from the NW Shoals campus.
Shelton takes on CVCC, Coastal and Snead meet in 4 impact games, Southern Union is facing Gadsden and Calhoun plays Lawson in a 4 game weekend series.
Softball:
By a recent surge in conference play, Wallace State has jumped ahead of Coastal South entering play for the last weekend in April.
Wallace State stands at 12 & 4 in the league with Coastal 2 games back in 2nd, 10 wins & 6 losses.
Snead hangs in 3rd at 11 & 9, Northwest Shoals is 8 & 8, Shelton 9 & 11, Southern Union 8 & 12 and Calhoun in last place at 6 & 14.
Thursday, Wallace goes to Northwest Shoals for a pair of games starting at 2:00 p.m.
The Lady Lions and Lady Patriots play at Bobby McCracken Stadium on Saturday with the opener to be at 2:00 p.m.
Coastal South and Snead get together for 4, while Calhoun, Southern Union and Shelton are idle this weekend in conference play.
  The Lady Lions are 25 & 11 overall in the first season under Lauren Stewart. Stewart took over before the start of the season when coach Carson Owens submitted his resignation.
