GOOD HOPE: A good week on the diamond concluded Friday for Good Hope Lady Raiders softball.
Good Hope scored a 6 to 1 victory over the Fairview Lady Aggies.
The Lady Raiders finish the week 3 & 1 with 3 consecutive victories. Good Hope got a pair of wins in 4A, Area 13 vs. Danville to lock up the No. 1 seed for the upcoming area playoffs.
Tim Tucker's Lady Raiders have 20 wins in 2025 out of 32 games. GH has 11 losses and a tie.
The 2024 Lady Raiders enjoyed a good season with 20 victories in 30 decisions.
In defeating Fairview, the Lady Raiders have remained perfect vs. Cullman County schools this season.
Good Hope is 9 & 0 and has 2 wins in 2 decisions vs. Fairview.
In the current winning streak, the Lady Raiders have accounted for 23 runs.
Good Hope is an experienced ball club with consistency at the top of the batting order from leadoff hitter Lizzy Steed, followed by Kylee Smith, Cambell Koch, Haley Lay, Molly Benefield, Addyson Burgess, Natalie Miller, Brooklyn Lambert and Maggie O'Neal.
Benefield and Burgess have rotated in the circle.
Good Hope is 7 & 2 on the home diamond.
The Lady Raiders are scheduled to play Cordova Monday on senior day.
The 2025 seniors are Lay, Miller, Burgess and Lambert.
Smith is the youngest in the ever day lineup, an 8th grader.

 Benefield is a sophomore and solid in pitching with Koch steady in her position at 2nd base and in her junior year with the team.
Steed anchors the team as the leadoff batter, hitting from the left side and showing skills on hitting well to the opposite side of the field.
