COLD SPRINGS: In filling the vacancy of varsity basketball coach, Cold Springs High School has gone approximately 20 miles Northwest of its campus.
Drew Adams, who has spent 9 years building a quality program at Good Hope High School, will take over the Cold Springs program next season.
Adams replaces Adam McKinnon who led the Eagles in the 2024/25 campaign, getting them to the sub regional round of the AHSAA 2A playoffs.
Adams began his ranks in varsity hoops with Good Hope in 2016.
The Raiders went from a .500 club his first year to a string of 20 wins or better from 2018 to 2025.
A 26 & 5 record in 2019/20 is the best for the Raiders with Adams.
Good Hope went 22 & 8 in the recent season, winning its 5th Cullman County championship in the last 7 years.
The Raiders reached the sub regional round in Class 4A, but were eliminated from getting to Wallace State for the Northwest Regional by the Brooks Lions.
His record at Good Hope is 184 wins, 87 losses.
He ranks 2nd in all time victories at Good Hope behind Hall of Fame coach Danny Welborn.
Adams becomes the 4th coach at Cold Springs since 2022/23, following Tim Willoughby, Cade Willingham and McKinnon.
It will be a husband and wife team on the hardwood for Cold Springs in 2025/26.
Recently his wife, Paige Parker Adams accepted the position in replacing Tammy West who is now the girls head coach at Cullman High School.
The process for Good Hope to find a successor for Adams is now under way.
Cold Springs will compete in 2A, Area 11 of the AHSAA next season with Falkville and Winston County as its opposition.
