GDW Analysis:
MADISON: In the first ever meeting between the Cullman Bearcats and Bob Jones Patriots, the Patriots set the tone with a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage.
That momentum Bob Jones earned immediately Thursday at Madison City Schools Stadium, carried them to a 48 to 12 victory.
A 90 yard score by Rhys Dorsey ignited the Patriots in grabbing a touchdown advantage at 11:44 of the first quarter.
Bob Jones would add a TD to its side of the scoreboard in the first and led 13 to 0.
Cullman moved the ball into the Bob Jones end zone early in the 2nd quarter as Cooper Ogstad rushed it over from seven yards out. The extra point failed with Cullman behind 13 to 6.
Bob Jones regained a two touchdown edge with a score before time ran out. The Patriots led 20 to 6 at the break.
Two TDs by the Patriots during the third gave them a comfortable 34 to 6 lead, entering the final stanza.
Cullman's 2nd TD was scored a minute into the 4th on a 43 yard pass from Preston Gay to Ogstad. The 'Cats could not convert the two point play and were down 34 to 12.
The Patriots again utilized the opportunity to score, having two more drives into the Bearcat end zone. Bob Jones scored 28 points in the 2nd half to create a large margin of victory.
