Cullman SB outlasts East Lawrence at home 9 to 4:

Cullman softball earned a 9 to 4 victory over East Lawrence Monday on its home diamond.
A key statistic Gameday Weekly is providing, Cullman was 5 for 12 with runners in scoring position while East Lawrence went just 1 for 10.
East Lawrence had a great chance to get early game momentum in loading the bases with nobody out in the 1st.
Cullman managed to keep the Lady Eagles off the scoreboard with pitcher Kynlei Storey getting support from her infield on a pop out to the catcher, a fielders choice to 3rd and a ground out to 1st to end the inning.
Cullman experienced the opportunity to score in the 2nd with the bases loaded. The Lady 'Cats failed and the game was 0 to 0 going to the 3rd.
In the Cullman 3rd, the Lady 'Cats got it going with Resse Hopper driving in a pair with a single and Hattie Graham coming in on a delay steal from 3rd.
A 3 to 0 Cullman lead lasted until the East Lawrence 5th. Storey was replaced in the circle by Summer Storey, her older sister.
Summer was greeted by four hits from the East Lawrence bats in the inning and two runs closed the deficit to 3 to 2.
Then Cullman managed to cool off the visitors by scoring 6 in the 5th on 5 hits. Hopper tripled home a run, Summer Storey got a two run base hit, a base hit by Dracen Bates added a run and leadoff batter Abby Maples singled home a pair.
Cullman was up 9 to 2 when East Lawrence batted in the 7th.
The Lady Eagles managed to get a two run homer and followed it with a single in having nobody out.
Summer Storey regained momentum with three consecutive outs as the game ended at 6:32 p.m.
The game was played under sunny skies and temperature in the 70s in 2 hours, 1 minute.
Allie Johnson had two hits and scored twice for Cullman, hitting 2nd in the order for Jessica McBrayer.
Hopper produced two hits and three runs batted in. Summer Storey got two RBIs on her single in the 5th.
Cullman goes to Mortimer Jordan Tuesday to finish up 6A, Area 13 regular season play.
Game time is 5:00 p.m.
