HANCEVILLE: Cullman County's track and field championship meet was held Monday under pleasant conditions at Wallace State Community College.
Girls standings:
1. Cold Springs 192, 2. Good Hope 132,
3. Fairview 105, 4. Holly Pond 102.
5. Hanceville 63, 6. West Point 49
7. Vinemont 37, 8. Harmony 3
Girls MVP: Millie McBee of Holly Pond
Varsity standings:
1. West Point 148, 2. Holly Pond 133
3. Fairview 124, 4. Good Hope 108.5
5. Cold Springs 77, 6. Hanceville 56
7. Vinemont 54.5
Varsity MVP: Nic Fallin of Fairview
McBee was the winner in the 400 meter, 100 meter, 200 meter.
Fallin was smooth in earning the MVP by taking the championship in the long jump, triple jump, 2nd in the high jump and pole vault.
The meet was held at Wallace State after the county coaches agreed on this in a preseason meeting. They were able to make arrangements with Wallace State.
Good Hope served as the host for the 2025 event.
Each team will have time to prepare for the sectional meets that will be April 25 & 26.
The small schools will set their sights on the state track championship at Cullman High School's Britton Field/Woodard Stadium the first weekend in May.
The 4A - 7A will compete for state supremacy in Gulf Shores the same weekend.
