During the three-week AHSAA playday Basketball event in June, Cold Springs' sophomore-to-be, Ella Dickerson, shone brightly for the Lady Eagles, scoring an impressive 95 points across five games broadcasted on WKUL.com. The team had a stellar 4-1 record, with three wins at Cullman High School's Bearcat Arena. Dickerson's standout performance came in the Lady Eagles' best game of the summer playday, where she scored a game-high 29 points, leading Cold Springs to a 55-46 victory over Cullman on June 15. In another thrilling match on June 19, she contributed 17 points, including a last-second layup, propelling Cold Springs to a 42-41 win against Rogers. In their final game on WKUL.com, Dickerson led the team with 18 points as Cold Springs dominated Hamilton 62-23 on June 21. Dickerson's impressive season also earned her recognition as an All-State tournament selection and a spot on Gameday Weekly's all-performance team. Despite suffering an ACL injury in eighth grade, Dickerson's hard work and dedication under the guidance of Hall of Fame coach Tammy West led to a remarkable 2022/23 season for Cold Springs, making her a well-deserving candidate for our weekly athletic spotlight.
