Malin gives back to his alma mater

GOOD HOPE: Tanner Malin made a significant impact as the quarterback for Good Hope football from 2020 to 2021, leading the Raiders to 19 victories in 25 games and two successful runs in the AHSAA 4A state playoffs. Recognized as the WKUL.com athlete of the week, Malin's exceptional leadership and skills have not waned. Currently in his sophomore season as a QB for Milsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, Malin recently showcased his unwavering love for his school and community by organizing a youth football camp at James Shabel Stadium, which saw a participation of over 70 athletes. The camp consisted in a series of fundamental events as well as team competition and wonderful fellowship.  While handling the main chore for Good Hope in 2020 & 2021, Malin was recognized as All Cullman County, All region, All State and on the GDW all performance team his junior and senior season. In December of 2021, Malin was invited to play in the annual AHSAA all star game. The game took place in Mobile at the home stadium for the University of South Alabama. During his final season for the Raiders, Malin helped Good Hope claim a 27 to 24 victory in the 1st round of the 4A postseason from James Shabel Stadium that was carried live on WKUL FM. The momentum Malin and the Raiders had earned, carried into the Round of 16 with a huge 35 to 21 upset at Northside in Tuscaloosa County. The season and Malin's career ended at home when the Raiders lost to Madison Academy in the quarterfinals 35 to 28. Good Hope had 9 wins in 2021, tied with Oneonta and Etowah for wins in Region 6 at five out of six. Oneonta defeated Good Hope to win the region with the Raiders gaining a 20 to 19 victory at Etowah that would put them in 2nd place ahead of the Blue Devils when regional play finished. In the spring of 2022, Malin accepted an offer to continue his football career at Milsaps. Milsaps is an NCAA Division III school, competing in the Southern Athletic Association.
