Welcome to the 2025 AHSAA Northwest Regional.
This sports spectacular has been at Tom Drake Coliseum from Wallace State CC since 1994.
Plenty of details provided by Gameday Weekly before the games start on Tuesday and continue through February 18.
 
No home court advantage:
 Three local teams saw the season end Saturday evening at home in the sub regional round. Those unable to display home court advantage were the Cold Springs Eagles 57 to 51 to Tanner, Cullman Bearcats 50 to 49 vs. Clay Chalkville and West Point Warriors fell 59 to 54 to Brewer.
On Friday, the St. Bernard Lady Saints lost in 1A sub regional 53 to 40 at the Fazi Richard Athletic Center to the Lynn Lady Bears.
Early last week, Vinemont Lady Eagles lost the home court edge when Holly Pond Lady Broncos pulled off a 54 to 42 upset in the 3A, Area 11 championship.

    2A: Tanner at Cold Springs 57 to 51
3A: Rogers at Locust Fork 61 to 57
5A: Brewer at West Point 59 to 54
5A: Arab at Sardis (G) 65 to 55
5A: Arab at Douglas 60 to 58
6A: Cullman at Clay Chalkville (G) 61 to 57
6A: Clay Chalkville at Cullman 50 to 49
1A: Lynn over St. Bernard (G) 53 to 40
 
Welcome back to the NW Regional:
   Cold Springs Lady Eagles return to Wallace State after playing the last 2 years in the Central Regional from Birmingham.
The Lady Eagles won the regional in 2023 at Bill Harris Arena against Francis Marion and last year beating rival Locust Fork.
 
Happy return to the regional on the bench:
Jessica McBrayer of Cullman: Former Wallace State Lady Lions coach has the Lady 'Cats in the regional in her 2nd year.
Bobby Meyer of West Morgan: Former Cullman and Vinemont mentor, Meyer had led the Rebels to 16 wins in 24 games with a lot of momentum coming to Hanceville.
 
Rematches from the regular season:
 4A (G): Good Hope vs. Dora - Lady Raiders posted an 83 to 22 win against Dora January 2 at Wallace in the New Years Classic.
6A (G): Cullman vs. Hartselle - Long time rivals tangle for the 1st time in this round of the postseason. Hartselle 2 & 0 vs. Cullman with a 56 to 30 victory at home in January.
1A: Hubbertville vs, Hackleburg - The Lions have 3 wins against Hackleburg, the last was 64 to 53 in late January.
3A (G): Lauderdale County vs. Mars Hill. Two superior teams will see one another for 2nd time. Lauderdale earned a 58 to 43 victory January 23 against the Bible School.
