Flash Thoughts; Very concerned about our youth's society:

Incidents involving schools & athletic events are surfacing:

Flash Thoughts:
Yours truly is very concerned from the fact of activity surrounding the young society.
An AHSAA football game on Friday got postponed for the fact of tension and stress between Oakman High School and Carbon Hill High School, long time Walker County rivals.
On Monday, additional members of the Cullman Police Department were asked to report to Cullman High School after an alleged threat toward the school occurred via social media.
From Cullman Daily, the news website reported that the Cullman County Board of Education (CCBOE) was investigating a situation that is also being assisted by the Cullman County Sheriff's Department.

All of us are touched by the misfortune of students and teachers that lost their lives last week when a 14 year old fired an AK-15 multiple times at a high school in Georgia.
His actions have led it to be where he is being charged for murder as an adult.
Mental health concerns are more frequent that well into our past.
Trying to enjoy life everyday does see a situation in how things can be challenging.
Nothing has been given on why so much stress and tension with two rivals in Walker County football. This is a good series as Carbon Hill has 27 wins, Oakman 23 and six ties between the two.
Carbon Hill made the call to get the game postponed until September 27. This week the Bulldogs get back into 3A, Region 5 as they welcome the Hanceville Bulldogs to town.
Carbon Hill will be under the scope of yours truly on the 20th in the WKUL FM Game of the Week at Vinemont.
GDW covered middle school football Monday from Mark Britton Field/Oliver Woodard Stadium with Cullman hosting Decatur in 7th grade and 8th grade.
Additional officers were roaming the stadium as well as a group of firefighters seen by yours truly.
The youth is the backbone to us society wise, for the future.
It's good for a person such as myself, a 45 year veteran of the sports media to see great accomplishments by student athletes.
Last Friday night, a group of young ladies were saluted for their effort in the previous basketball season, giving Good Hope a state title for the first time. Each received a championship ring and a huge ovation for what they did for the school, our county and their community on March 1.
There is situations where things for people are tested from one day to the next. Enjoying life is not easy.
Frustration causes trauma and it puts many people on being very concerned for everyone.
Tension is very high with whom will be selected by vote to be the next President of the United States.
A lot of people that adore college football in what I say can be overloading, are trying to offset the frustration for how some lost last Saturday when not expected.
Auburn fans are in a whirlwind after the Tigers played poorly and let California visit Jordan Hare and upset them 21 to 14.
Notre Dame fans are beside themselves with Northern Illinois going to South Bend and knocking off the Fighting Irish 16 to 14. That is possibly a loss they can not erase and it may have enough damage to keep Notre Dame out of the expanded CFB playoff.
So many people are very active on social media, from Facebook to Twitter, to Instagram and so on.
People are free spirited as well and do not lack confidence in the quest of being aggressive.
They are risking their lives and so many others for inappropriate actions.
I was told by Cullman Middle School assistant principal Chad Shannon Monday, all things remained calm following the incident with the school system and the CPD working on trying to find how this was created and to be brought down to a halt.
The photo above the story is a great example.
It's Peanuts. Charles Shultz's long time comic strip that engages in situations with several characters having different personalities.
I just wish for things to be as calm as possible. Those who try to replicate these situations need to suffer the consequences.
My approach is to enjoy what I do and how I contribute into promoting our student athletes from 10 high schools in Cullman County covered by GDW.
I look forward to Tuesday when the assignment is Cullman Christian School at St. Bernard in volleyball. CCS is now a member of the AHSAA and this is an area game for the two local programs.
If people, young or old, are having mental concerns, get help.
I have gone through the situation of losing a loved one who unfortunately took her life by suicide 10 years ago. I keep it private, but it has been something to challenge me in my quest to remain active in what I do and how I wish to endure happiness I seek everyday.
I do consider myself to be grateful for giving the opportunity to contribute to our daily society from stories I write for GDW and the time I am on the air broadcasting ball games for WKUL FM and WKUL.com
 Thank you.
