SYBL girls league displays a competitive situation:

Southern Youth Basketball League (SYBL) had eight games in the Girls' Fall League Sunday from the Cullman Basketball Complex.
Gameday Weekly followed the schedule between Court 1 to Court 3 as five games were decided by close margins.
Mortimer Jordan is atop the leaderboard at 3 & 0, the only team undefeated through the first three weeks of the 2024 schedule.
Mortimer Jordan rallied from a 21 to 19 halftime deficit and beat Holly Pond 51 to 49, winning the game at the foul line with 0:04 left on the clock.
Good Hope sent Hills' Warriors to the loss column for the first time. The Lady Raiders came from behind in the 2nd half and earned a 43 to 37 victory. The Warriors fell to 2 & 1 as the Lady Raiders are now 2 & 1.
Danville came into Sunday undefeated. The Lady Hawks knocked off Cordova 55 to 43, outscoring the Blue Devils 30 to 22 in the 2nd half. Danville then dropped a close encounter to Section, falling to the Lady Lions 38 to 36 after they held a 23 to 21 lead at the break.
Fairview tasted victory in league play for the first time by romping over Section 47 to 9. The Lady Aggies shot their way to a 21 to 4 halftime cushion and poured it on with 26 in the final half, getting a lot of shots to fall from 3 point territory.
Arab rolled by MBuckets 44 to 16. Arab is now 2 & 1 with MBuckets at 2 & 2.
ODS earned a couple of hard fought victories, 36 to 32 vs. Arab Blue and 44 to 37 over Good Hope II. ODS moved its record to an even 2 & 2 in having a good day at the CBC.
The next segment for SYBL Girls Fall League will be Sunday at the CBC with games to start at 1:20 p.m.
Tuesday varsity SYBL Fall League schedule:
At 5:30, Mortimer Jordan II vs. Corner, Fairview vs. Pennington and Danville vs. Hartselle.
The games at 6:10 p.m. will be West Point II vs. Mortimer Jordan III, Decatur II vs. Cullman JV, Decatur vs. Mortimer Jordan.
For the 7:00 p.m. schedule, West Point plays Hayden while Cordova gets Brewer and Vinemont faces Dora.
The schedule closes out with three games at 7:50. They are Hayden vs. Good Hope, Mortimer Jordan III vs. Cullman JV and Hayden II against Brewer II.
