Four local teams seek victory on Saturday evening:

GDW Analysis:
  Four local basketball teams seek to extend their season into next week.

 The quest is the AHSAA sub regional playoff on Saturday.
Three teams will be at home after winning their respective area championship.
One school has to go on the road for being runner up in an area final.
All games on February 8 will be at 6:00 p.m.
 
2A: Tanner (13 & 12) at Cold Springs (9 & 15):
  Eagles had progressed from the start to the current stage of the season for new coach Adam McKinnon.

 A 5 & 0 record against Area 11 foes with the Eagles winning the championship February 4 at home by a 68 to 63 final over Falkville.
The Eagles will endure playing in the postseason in their new facility for the first time. The gymnasium is 1 year into operation.
Key personnel for the Eagles: PG Tyson Kilgo, SG Ethan Day, C Breydon Hallman.
 
4A: Good Hope (22 & 7) at Brooks (21 & 8):
  It is the 2nd consecutive year the Raiders are playing on the road in the sub regional round.
A year ago, Good Hope went to Huntsville and defeated the Randolph Raiders.
Now Drew Adams' group heads to the Killen area in Lauderdale County.
Brooks won the Area 14 title at Deshler on Wednesday night.
The Raiders lost the Area 13 title at West Morgan 67 to 51 on Tuesday.
Key personnel for the Raiders: PG Jacob Haynes, SG Tucker Malin, F Tyler Cone.

 5A: Brewer (20 & 6) at West Point (21 & 7):
On the strength of an incredible 59 to 53 victory at Russellville Tuesday evening, the Warriors have a sub regional game from Jim Boyd Gymnasium.
It's a rematch with the visitors from Morgan County. Brewer beat the Warriors 61 to 54 in Florette on December 9.
West Point now has its psyche back after a couple of close losses to Russellville January 17 and to Holly Pond in the Cullman County tournament January 24.
Brewer had its 7 game winning streak broken in the Area 16 final, a 71 to 55 loss to East Limestone.
Key personnel for West Point: SG Jay Lamar, F Maddox Chapman, C Jaxson Shelton.
Mason Voce's Warriors are 11 & 2 on the home floor. The last two years have been solid with Voce as West Point has gone 45 & 16. They were 24 & 9 in 2023/24.
6A: Clay Chalkville (17 & 7) at Cullman (26 & 4):
Cullman showed toughness Wednesday night in coming from an 18 point deficit, knocking off rival Jasper 66 to 61 and cut down the net in winning the 6A, Area 13 championship.
The Bearcats welcome Clay Chalkville to Bearcat Arena.
Clay lost a low scoring 47 to 41 final in the 6A, Area 12 championship to Pinson Valley.
Stu Stuedeman's Bearcats have an 8 game winning streak from home.
Key personnel for the Bearcats: SG Sam Dorough, SG Jake Dorough, F Evan Wilson.
Bearcat hoops have enjoyed 104 wins in the last 4 seasons with Stuedeman. Cullman has won 4 consecutive area titles and looking for its 4th straight triumph in the sub regional round.
