County rivals Holly Pond and Vinemont tangle with both having importance in the county standings as well as AHSAA Class 3A, Area 13 play.
Girls:
Both teams are on momentum entering their first meeting of the season.
Holly Pond is 11 & 3 overall, Vinemont has 9 wins in 12 games.
In the area standings, Holly Pond leads at 3 & 0 with Vinemont a game behind at 2 & 1.
County standings currently has Vinemont in 4th place at 3 & 2 and Holly Pond a game behind in 5th position with a 2 & 3 county record.
Holly Pond is coming off a 59 to 46 victory over Hanceville on December 10.
Vinemont visited Cold Springs Monday evening and returned home by defeating the Lady Eagles 62 to 25.
Key matchups will be Holly Pond's Madison Butts, Millie McBee, Ava Thomas and Maggie Nail against the performances from Vinemont, led by Reagan Robinson, Caroline Miller, Morgan Flanagan and Carley Stephens.
Varsity:
Wins earlier in the week for Holly Pond and Vinemont ignite this encounter.
The Broncos have 7 wins against 8 losses, Vinemont is 4 & 9 with a new lineup on the floor this season for Preston Boyd.
Holly Pond is 3rd in 3A, Area 13 at 1 & 2 with Vinemont in 4th place at 0 & 3.
Both have records of 1 & 4 in Cullman County games with the two currently tied for 5th place.
Tim Willoughby's Broncos will look to getting good results from Fox Westall, Sawyer Olinger, Asher Thrift, Carson Ryan and Cade Allbright.
Vinemont seeks balance play by Gavin Parr, Gee Flores, Cheston Wilhite, EJ Sharpe and Bryson Bush.
The girls game is to tip off after 6:00 p.m. with the Broncos and Eagles to get on to the floor most likely after 7:30 p.m.
