Local basketball will have plenty to prove Tuesday evening in AHSAA basketball area championship play.
No homecourt advantage with three county teams that Gameday Weekly covers regularly.
 Another game just across the line in Winston County catches the attention of GDW for the rivalry and in particular, a first time head coach.
 West Point at Russellville in 5A, A 15:
 Tip time is 6:00 p.m.
West Point is 20 & 7, Russellville 15 & 8
Russellville beat West Point 76 to 65 at home January 7.
West Point defeated Lawrence County 68 to 56 in the semifinals February 1.
West Point has had a good season under Mason Voce in earning 20 victories. His 4 years have gone 71 & 44.
The Warriors have not won an area championship since 2015.
Good Hope at West Morgan in 4A, A 13:
Tip time is 6:00 p.m.
Good Hope is 22 & 6, West Morgan 14 & 8
West Morgan defeated Good Hope 87 to 82 in OT January 14 in Trinity.
Good Hope has won 7 in a row since that game. The Raiders defeated East Lawrence 70 to 48 in the semifinal round February 1.
West Morgan is directed by former Cullman Bearcat coach Bobby Meyer.
Meyer has the Rebels going well with 9 wins in their last 11 games.
The Rebels rallied February 1 to get by Danville 71 to 68 in OT to take on Good Hope for the 3rd time this season.
Cullman at Mortimer Jordan (G) 6A, A 13:
Tip time is 6:00 p.m.
The game will be live on 98.3 FM
Cullman is 14 & 14, MJ is 15 & 7
Mortimer Jordan beat Cullman 58 to 40 at home January 17.
Cullman is in the area finals after knocking off Jasper 61 to 53 on February 1.
The Lady Bearcats have won 3 in a row with two of them being vs. Jasper last week.
Meek at Addison in 1A, A 14:
Tip time is 6:00 p.m.
Addison is 18 & 6, Meek is 8 & 9
Addison was undefeated in 1A, Area 14 regular season play. The Bulldogs beat Meek 50 to 36 at Addison January 14.
Former Cold Springs standout Triston Chambers is coaching the Bulldogs. In his rookie season, Chambers has seen the Bulldogs run off a 15 game winning streak coming into the area title bout with their neighbors from Arley.
Addison won the area championship against Meek last year on the home floor.
Allen Stephenson Gymnasium is expected to have a large gathering of hoop fans for the latest encounter between the two rivals.
