Scottsboro makes return to AHSAA 5A girls state title game:

GDW Analysis:
BIRMINGHAM: After a tight opening period, the strength of the Scottsboro Lady Wildcats began to show in wearing down the Vigor Wolves 72 to 36 at the BJCC Wednesday afternoon.
Between the 2nd and 3rd period, Scottsboro had a 31 to 11 advantage and put the game out of reach.
A 21 to 15 lead following the first, became 33 to 22 at the half and 52 to 26 when time ran out in the 3rd.
Northwest Regional MVP Bree Sexton stood out with 24 points, shooting 9 of 15 and 5 of 5 from the line.
Sophomore Isabelle Nelson was stout in shooting 6 of 12 from the floor, 11 rebounds, 8 steals and 4 blocks. She had 12 points.
Caroline Dawson went 5 of 8 shooting and earned 10 points.
Vigor's 6'4" center Jamonica Chamber accounted for 17 on 7 of 14 shooting and 3 FTs, plus 11 rebounds and 8 blocks.
Scottsboro coach Brandon Childers was proud of the team's effort and how the Lady Wildcats wore down the school from Mobile after the first.

 Scottsboro has 28 wins out of 33 games and was # 2 in the final state 5A poll.
Now the Lady 'Cats return to the championship for the 2nd consecutive year.
Scottsboro lost in the title game a year ago to Jasper 52 to 48. They are looking for different results this time.
