St. Bernard Lady Saints hold off Cullman Christian Lady Lions:

Lady Saints win season series from their city hoops rival:

GDW Analysis:
Those who have seen the St. Bernard Lady Saints play this basketball, know that freshman Ella Davis is their catalyst offensively.
Davis goes out and scores to her liking as she did Friday with 25 in the Lady Saints 44 to 37 triumph vs. city rival Cullman Christian in the 1A, Area 14 semifinal.
There is more to Davis that just being a scorer.
She wants others to get into showing they can deliver when it becomes valuable from the team aspect.
Three others contributed in the 2nd period to send the home team from a first period deadlock to 25 to 11 at intermission.
Davis had 17 at the half and 23 by the end of the 3rd period.
St. Bernard went up 35 to 15 in the 3rd in seeming to have the contest well in grasp.
Cullman Christian said no.

The Lady Lions narrowed the margin to 37 to 27 when the 3rd ended.
A three from Lila Sellers got the Lady Lions within two possessions in the 4th at 39 to 33.
Caroline McBride showed good scoring in the 4th for Tim Burleson's Lady Saints.
She had 5 points and would complete the night with a dozen.
Davis accounted for 25 before fouling out late in the encounter.
In three games with Gameday Weekly reporting, Davis has scored 30 vs. CCS, 22 vs. Addison and 25 in the area semifinal. A total of 77 points as this makes Davis one of the top scorers in local basketball.
Sellers and Piper Coots claimed 10 apiece for the Lady Lions. They finish their first official season in the AHSAA at 10 & 17.

Gracie Stidham had 8 for CCS, Zoe Powell 6 and Brooklyn Hammack 2.
The Lady Saints won 2 of 3 meetings vs. the Lady Lions. Both wins were at the Fazi Richard Athletic Center.
Now 12 & 6, the Lady Saints meet Addison in the area championship Monday 6:00 p.m.
Addison got a 37 to 28 victory in the other semifinal against county rival Meek.
The Lady Saints beat Addison twice in the later part of the regular season to grab home court for the area playoff.
