Time is winding down on the local prep baseball season:

Two weeks left in regular season following spring break play:

GDW Analysis:
Local baseball is entering the final stage of the 2025 regular season.
Once the spring break week ends, April will be here and so will the quest for teams covered by Gameday Weekly to clinch playoff berths in the AHSAA.
The opening round of the postseason will be the weekend of April 17/18.
Regular season area champions will host a runner up from a cross over area in the best of a 3 game series.
Locally, everyone is still in contention, but several are in must win issues if they are to be a part of the postseason agenda.
Vinemont:
Eagles are 6 & 1 in 3A, Area 12, 1st place.
Vinemont host Locust Fork Monday, play at Locust Fork Tuesday.
Locust Fork is 0 & 4 in the area standings.
Vinemont has swept Hanceville, Holly Pond and went 2 & 1 vs. JB Pennington.
Vinemont will play two games Thursday at Toyota Field in Madison Thursday, the home of the Trash Pandas. VM takes on Elkmont at 4:30 p.m. and East Limestone at 6:30 p.m.
Good Hope:
Raiders are 2 & 0 in 4A, Area 13, 1st place.
Good Hope gets back into area play at West Morgan Tuesday and faces the Rebels in Good Hope on April 3.
The Raiders complete the area schedule the week after with a pair vs. East Lawrence.
Good Hope swept Danville last week prior to hosting the Cullman County tournament.
Cullman:
Bearcats are 0 & 0 in 6A, Area 13.
In a three team area, Cullman faces Jasper on the road Tuesday and welcomes the Vikings to Bill Shelton Field April 3.
Cold Springs:
Eagles are 0 & 2 in 2A, Area 10.
Cold Springs resumes area play Tuesday at Falkville with the series to move to Donald Freeman Field on April 3.
Eagles play Winston County the week after to conclude the area schedule.
Fairview:
Aggies are 0 & 2 in 5A, Area 15.
Fairview will play at Guntersville Tuesday and host the Wildcats on April 3.
The following week, the Aggies are locked in an area series vs. the Brewer Patriots.
Hanceville:
Bulldogs are 2 & 2 in 3A, Area 12.
Hanceville is facing Holly Pond at home Monday and visit the Broncos on Tuesday.
Hanceville will end area play the following week against JB Pennington.
Pennington has swept Holly Pond, but lost 2 of 3 to Vinemont. They are 3 & 2 in the area entering the new week.
Holly Pond:
Broncos are 0 & 4 in 3A, Area 12.
The Broncos take on Hanceville Monday in a road game and host the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
Holly Pond has lost series to Vinemont and Locust Fork that has the Broncos last in the area standings.
West Point:
Warriors are 0 & 2 in 5A, Area 14.
West Point takes on Priceville in area play with a home game Tuesday and at Priceville on April 3.
The Warriors finish the area schedule the week after in a huge series with the Russellville Golden Tigers.

Good Hope has the longest drought of not making the playoffs. The Raiders last time played in the postseason in 2021.
West Point is trying to avoid three consecutive years not being in the 5A postseason. The last time for the Warriors was 2022.
Cullman did not make it in 2024, the first time in over 2 decades the Bearcats were not in 6A postseason play.
Cold Springs last visited the playoffs in 2023 with Fairview, Holly Pond, Hanceville and Vinemont reaching the playoffs last year.
