Eight teams out to fill coaching vacancy in local basketball:

GDW Analysis:
With Faron Key leaving Hartselle High School to become basketball coach at Wallace State, eight schools in the Gameday Weekly coverage area enter the final days of May trying to fill vacancies.
Hartselle High School went ahead and posted on AHSAA.com they are in search of replacing Key.
Applications are being accepted with the deadline to fill the vacancy at the end of June.
 Eight schools near the GDW coverage area, are in the process of looking at applications, gathering information and to finalize and make a decision as soon as possible.
These are the current schools near GDW's coverage area that have vacancies:
Girls:
Clements: Out to replace Shane Childress
Sparkman: Out to replace Jarvis Wilson
Mortimer Jordan: Out to replace Kelly Robinson
Brewer: Out to replace Colton Smith:
Varsity:
Hartselle: Out to replace Faron Key
Sparkman: Out to replace James Coggins
Danville: Out to replace Ben Mastin
Cordova: Out to replace Nathan Sanders
  GDW reports 11 schools will be under a new coach for the 2024/25 season. New coaches will be stationed at girls programs in Albertville, Susan Moore, Priceville, Vinemont, Guntersville and Arab.
The following will have a new varsity coach. They are West Morgan, Albertville, Athens, Decatur, Corner.
The playday tour will begin next week at various locations around the GDW coverage area.
Danville is scheduled to host one on Tuesday with assistant coach Jeffery Melson the contact person.
Brewer girls have one set on June 10 with Matthew Crowe (varsity coach) coordinating the event.
Hartselle had schedule a varsity playday on June 24. Nothing has been reported on whether it will be held or not.
GDW has put together a playday schedule that will keep the website busy through June in covering hoops from various locations around the coverage area.
