Update on locals in the AHSAA softball playoffs:

Cullman, Vinemont move on to the regional round:

GDW Analysis:
After Monday in the AHSAA softball area playoffs, two teams qualified for the regional round while two other teams will be on the field Tuesday.
Cullman County tournament winner Good Hope was eliminated by a 4 to 1 loss to Priceville in the 4A, Area 13 tournament.
Priceville then came back with a 6 run 7th inning to stun West Morgan 7 to 4 and send the tournament into an if needed game.
West Morgan regrouped by taking down Priceville 12 to 5. West Morgan was the 3 seed going into the tournament. Now the Lady Rebels will represent Area 13 as the tournament champion next week in Florence with Priceville the runner up and a qualifier.
Good Hope's season was strong with 20 wins in 30 games, posting an 8 & 4 record vs. area opposition.
Cullman:
Lady Bearcats are in the North Regional in 6A. Mortimer Jordan edged Cullman twice 4 to 0 and 3 to 2 in winning the Area 13 championship on its field.
Cullman goes to Florence with 23 wins, 15 losses and a tie.
This is the 3rd consecutive year Lewayne Morton's Lady Bearcats have earned a regional berth.
Vinemont:
In the 3 team Class 3A, Area 13 tournament in Blountsville, Vinemont posted an 11 to 3 victory in the loser's final against Susan Moore. The title was claimed by JB Pennington with a 10 to 0 triumph.
Vinemont will be on its way to the East Regional next week in Albertville.
Cold Springs:
Lady Eagles fell in the opening round to Locust Fork 7 to 5. The 2A, Area 12 tournament is going on at Sumiton Christian.
Cold Springs and Locust Fork will meet in the elimination bracket at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with the winner to play Sumiton Christian for the title.
Holly Pond:
In Walnut Grove, Holly Pond was defeated by Cleveland 10 to 0 in the 2A, Area 12 Tournament.
Holly Pond meets Cleveland at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in the elimination bracket. The winner will face West End for the championship after 6:00 p.m.
