GDW Analysis:
Local baseball will have a series of important area assignments Thursday.
Cold Springs, Cullman, Fairview earned an area victory Tuesday as a road team.
Now they get to play on the first Thursday of April from their respective home diamond.
Cold Springs Eagles:
Vs. Falkville 4:30 p.m. in 2A, Area 11
Eagles are 1 & 2 after victory at Falkville Tuesday.
Sumiton Christian is leading the area with a 3 & 0 record and 2 & 0 against Cold Springs.
Cullman Bearcats:
Vs. Jasper 4:30 p.m. in 6A, Area 13 (98.3 FM)
Bearcats are 1 & 0 in area after 1 to 0 win Tuesday at Jasper. Jasper is 1 & 2 in the area. Mortimer Jordan is 2 & 1 in the area standings and will meet Cullman next week.
Fairview Aggies:
Vs. Guntersville 4:30 p.m. in 5A, Area 14
Aggies are 1 & 2 in the area after a 7 to 1 victory Tuesday in Guntersville.
Arab leads the area at 4 & 0 and will host the Brewer Patriots Thursday.
Good Hope Raiders:
Vs. West Morgan 4:30 p.m. in 4A, Area 13
Raiders are 2 & 1 in area after a 9 to 7 loss Tuesday at West Morgan.
West Morgan is 3 & 0 in the area standings.
Vinemont Eagles:
Eagles defeated Locust Fork Wednesday to clinch No. 1 seed in 3A, Area 12. Eagles went 8 & 1 in area competition.
Vinemont will host a first round playoff series at Mike Cupp Field the weekend of April 17.
