Vinemont hands Pennington 1st loss of season in large margin:

VINEMONT: Starting play in December is good for the Vinemont Lady Eagles.
On Tuesday, they claimed a big 56 to 54 upset of West Point, a victory against the Lady Warriors that has been a long time for it to happen.
Friday, the Lady Eagles started AHSAA 3A, Area 14 and ran by the Pennington Lady Tigers 53 to 21.
Emily Willoughby's Lady Eagles have won 7 of 9 games and currently have a 4 game winning streak.

 Vinemont played very good defense for the game in which the Lady Eagles allowed Pennington three FGs after the 1st period.
Pennington trailed the Lady Eagles 14 to 9 when the period ended. Vinemont outscored the Blount County opponent 16 to 5 in the 2nd and raised the lead at halftime to 29 to 13.
Carley Stephens carried the Lady Eagles in scoring with 8 in the third. Vinemont was on top 41 to 17 and finished the game on a 12 to 4 surge.
Vinemont hit 20 FGs in the game, 5 in the 1st, 4 in the 2nd, 6 in the 3rd and 5 in the final period.
Stephens tallied 16 on the night with Reagan Robinson adding 11, Morgan Flanigan scoring 10, Caroline Miller 6, Vayda Yarbrough 5, Addison Holcomb 3 and Arleigh Thomason 2.
The Lady Eagles are undefeated at Vinemont Gymnasium in four decisiosn.
Vinemont will continue its Area 14 schedule when the Lady Eagles travel to Locust Fork Tuesday evening.
