Lady Lions 3 & 0 in ACCC volleyball:

GDW Analysis:
HANCEVILLE: Wallace State volleyball hosted its first assignment in the ACCC Wednesday as Bevill State and Lawson State visited Tom Drake Coliseum.
The Lady Lions were able to earn sweeps of both teams from the Northern Division.
In 53 minutes, Wallace State took care of Bevill 25 to 5, 25 to 14 and 25 to 13.
Lawson was more of a challenge. The Lady Lions completed a sweep, but had to survive a tight 3rd set in claiming it by the final of 25 to 23.
Randy Daniel's Lady Lions are now 14 & 5 with six consecutive victories. They stand 7 & 1 on the home floor.
Wallace and Calhoun share the lead in North Divisions as both are 3 & 0.
The highlight from the Bevill match for Gameday Weekly was the Fairview reunion.
Abby McDonald and Ava Calvarese now are Wallace State Lady Lions with former Aggie Kabri Redding a starter for Bevill.
Wallace State was more superior in every phase as in the 1st set, Amanda Monge had 11 consecutive service points with the Lady Lions up 19 to 3.
A service point from McDonald ran the lead to 21 to 3. The first set ended in 13 minutes when Kailey Dickerson got a kill.
Dickerson was coming off a great outing the week before to earn player of the week honors by the ACCC.
To finish the sweep of Bevill, Calvarese scored three straight points on serve late in the set with a kill from sophomore Chloe Jackson ending the match at 4:57 p.m.
Redding had a few good situations, but not enough and at times she lined up on the front row with Calvarese on the opposite side of her.
Wallace kept it going against Lawson on strong play by McDonald with three serves in the opener and a series of kills from Dickerson and Monge.
The 2nd set was the largest in margin of victory for Wallace, 12 points.
A net foul on Lawson gave WSCC a score and the lead was 15 to 7.
Two kills and a service point late by Monge plus a net block from Addison Delaney sent the Lady Lions up 2 to 0 in the match.
Ali Rice came up with a volley for a point as Wallace moved ahead of Lawson in the 3rd set, 20 to 13.
The visitor from Birmingham never gave up. The Lady Cougars closed to 24 to 23 on a kill and a block as they had possession in trying to get the score even.
Wallace received the serve and said goodbye to Lawson when Jackson delivered a kill. The match was concluded at 6:53 p.m. a time of 1 hour and 9 minutes.
The Lady Lions will have an assignment Saturday at the Coliseumvs. Pellissippi State at 1:00 p.m.
