GDW Girls area championship report:
Cold Springs 56, Falkville 21 (2A, 11):
COLD SPRINGS: Cold Springs was not going to allow Falkville Lady Blue Devils a chance for a 2nd upset in the Area 11 tournament.
Falkville beat 10th ranked Winston County 44 to 43 Friday in the semifinal.
Cold Springs started fast and would go on to win the title on its 1 year old facility, located below legendary Jesse George Gymnasium.
The Lady Eagles are 17 & 8, ending the regular season 2nd in 2A to Decatur Heritage.
Up next: Cold Springs to host Area 15 runner up Lexington in sub regional 6:00 p.m.
Good Hope 72, Danville 38 (4A, 13):
GOOD HOPE: A superior outing was on display by the Good Hope Lady Raiders Monday.
The Lady Raiders romped over the Danville Lady Hawks, improving to 23 & 5 on the season.
Justin Aby's Lady Raiders have won 7 in a row and take a 23 & 5 record into the sub regional round.
Up next: Good Hope to host Area 14 runner up Friday 6:00 p.m. The semifinals in Area 14 were played Monday between Deshler vs. Brooks and Wilson vs. Central Florence.
West Point 46, Russellville 38 (5A, 15):
WEST POINT: Russellville came to Jim Boyd Gymnasium with determination in upsetting the No. 5 ranked Lady Warriors.
The Golden Tigers stayed with John Welborn's Lady Warriors in the first half, trailing 17 to 16.
West Point found more offense in the final half, outscoring Russellville 29 to 22.
The Lady Warriors have a 3 game winning streak and are 22 & 5 for the season.

St. Bernard 42. Addison 33 (1A, 14):
St. Bernard found a way to defeat the Addison Lady Bulldogs for the 3rd time this season.
They had scored wins of 34 to 30 January 16 and 41 to 38 January 20 to claim the top spot in the area playoffs.
St. Bernard, with Tim Burleson in his first year coaching the Lady Saints, have 6 wins in 8 games against Area 14 opposition.
The Lady Saints have 13 wins in 18 games and stand 7 & 1 at the Fazi Richard Athletic Center,
