COLD SPRINGS: Winning area basketball championships goes hand in hand with Cold Springs High School.
The Eagles have cut down the net in area championship games 10 times since 2010.

 The latest was Monday evening from their new facility that is one year into operation.
 Cold Springs held off the Falkville Blue Devils 68 to 63 in the AHSAA 2A, Area 11 championship.
 With first year coach Adam McKinnon, a former assistant, Cold Springs showed a lot of grit in progressing through the season.
 The Eagles did not lose an area game and defeated Falkville three times, a rare and great accomplishment.
 From January to the present time, the Eagles have shown a winning edge with five victories out of nine decisions.
 The Eagles three wins against Falkville were by final scores of 56 to 51, 62 to 40 and the 68 to 63 victory Monday night.
 Falkville, the lower seed in the tournament, delivered a 53 to 50 upset of No. 2 seed Winston County on January 31 to get a chance to come  back and play in Southwest Cullman County.
Up next for Cold Springs: At home on Saturday in sub regional vs. Tanner, the runner up from Area 15. Tanner lost to Decatur Heritage 68 to 59 Monday night.
Game time is 6:00 p.m.

Guntersville 71, Fairview 59 (5A, 14):
GUNTERSVILLE: Fairview Aggies played hard Monday night against the No. 1 seed Guntersville Wildcats, Guntersville was able to pull out a hard fought victory.
The Aggies end the season at 13 wins & 18 losses for Thomas Ganus in his 2nd year with the team.
Guntersville will play Arab for the area championship Wednesday 6:00 p.m.

Jasper 70, Mortimer Jordan 45 (6A, 13 SF):
From Bearcat Arena Monday, Jasper slammed Mortimer Jordan to get a chance at playing for the Area championship Wednesday vs. the Cullman Bearcats.
Cullman got the bye in the 3 team tournament after beating Jasper twice in the regular season.
Game time is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with the game to be  live on 98.3 FM.
