Football coaches comment on upcoming 2024 season:

Cullman County Schools annual fall sports media day took place from the conference room Monday.
Gameday Weekly reports on the activity with the football coaches.
Teams that did not conduct a spring jamboree can start fall workouts on July 29. Schools that played a spring game have to wait til August 5 to begin prepping for the 2024 season.
Regular season play officially begins locally on August 23.
Cold Springs Eagles - Brendan Voce:
"Our summer program is much better than it was last year. We lost focus on competing. This team is going to try to compete every Friday night this season.
"Every week the players are fighting for their job. We are super excited of the opportunity."
Cold Springs season opener - August 23 at Hanceville (WKUL FM).
Fairview Aggies - George Redding:
"We have 5 to 6 that can play on both sides of the ball. We are looking for leadership. We have 7 seniors this year with 14 juniors, 14 sophomores and 11 freshmen.
"We have got some holes to fill. We are getting there. How we understand of being successful. The good teams have leadership. That is what we are working on."
Fairview season opener - August 30 at Springville.
Good Hope Raiders - Alan Scott:
"A majority of our offense is back. We want to compete. We have a good chance against good competition. We are working on getting bigger, stronger and faster. Our expectations are high."
Good Hope season opener - August 30 at West Point (WKUL FM)
Hanceville Bulldogs - Levi Estes:
"The young men are working hard. We want to be tough and strong. We are having great competition in practice. We have 9 seniors this year with each in a chance to contribute.
"We just have 30 on the roster. They are ready to go and battle. They are doing what they can to build each other up."
Hanceville season opener - August 23 vs. Cold Springs (WKUL FM)
Holly Pond Broncos - Will McDaniel:
"All seniors have been to all of our summer workouts. They take on everything. We have put a lot on them. They come into work to learn.
"We do not have a lot of depth at the skill positions. The attitude has been very good."
Holly Pond season opener - August 23 vs. Appalachian.
Vinemont Eagles - Stephen Robinson:
 
"We have 18 seniors that is very huge for us. We have a quarterback with experience. That is a huge help. It's good to line up and measure yourself against very good teams.
 "This group of seniors are very close. The summer has been good for us so far."
 Vinemont season opener - August 23 vs. Falkville
 
West Point Warriors - Kevin McCravy:
 "Excited to be here. This is very special to me. My family went here.
We have community support. It has been good on how quickly the players stepped in to buy our system. We have been around 90 to 95 percent for workouts.
"We feel good at the offensive line, defensive line and our quarterback play. We are having very good competition at the position of linebacker."
West Point season opener - August 23 vs. Haleyville.
Just the facts:
Estes, McDaniel and McCravy are new head coaches coming to Cullman County football for the first time.
Redding is currently tied for 2nd in all time wins in county football with former Hanceville coach Ray Talley at 117.
Redding begins his 18th season at Fairview.
Scott enters his 10th season at Good Hope.
Robinson will be in his 8th season coaching Vinemont.
New season openers for the following. Cold Springs vs. Hanceville, Fairview vs. Springville, Hanceville vs. Cold Springs, Holly Pond vs. Appalachian, West Point vs. Haleyville.
Fairview has been a playoff qualifier for 5 consecutive seasons, Vinemont 4 consecutive years. Hanceville is looking to be in the playoffs for the 1st time since 2013.
Less county games than recent seasons - Cold Springs vs. Hanceville, Good Hope vs. West Point, Holly Pond vs. Hanceville, West Point vs. Fairview, Hanceville vs. Vinemont, Fairview vs. Good Hope.
