Eagles & Bearcats cruise to victory in Week 6 local football:

Vinemont now 5 & 1, Cullman evens record at 3 & 3:

GDW Analysis:
Taking momentum into October is the Vinemont Eagles and the Cullman Bearcats.
The two ended the September schedule Friday evening by dominating their opponent.
Vinemont rolled over West End 36 to 6 at Walnut Grove in Etowah County. The Eagles have

won five of their first six games this season, three of them coming away from Mark Smothers
Stadium.
Cullman fought off a challenging first half by Brewer from Mark Britton Field/Oliver Woodard Stadium.

shutting out the Patriots 35 to 0. The 'Cats get their record even to 3 & 3 in playing the 5A school from
Morgan County for the first time since 2017.
Three TDs for Vinemont in the 2nd quarter put the Eagles ahead 30 to 0 at the half against West End.
The Eagles scored one time in the 2nd half, a 3rd quarter TD and led 36 to 6. West End escaped the
shutout with a TD in the final stanza.
Stephen Robinson's Eagles have been on a scoring tear, producing 113 points in their last 3 games,
wins against Midfield, Carbon Hill and West End. Vinemont has 193 points on the season, averaging 32.1
per game. The Eagles lead county football in scoring going into October.
Cullman was able to break a scoreless tie with Brewer by a TD with 4 seconds left in the half and went to

the locker room up 7 to 0.
Danny Stiff's Bearcats wore down the Patriots with 3 TDs in the third and scored their last in the

4th quarter to earn their first shutout of the season.
The 'Cats have tallied 35 points in two wins now from Britton Field/Woodard Stadium. Cullman is
2 & 1 on the home turf, outscoring the visitors 84 to 38.


 Elsewhere:
Hayden 16, West Point 14: Victory was well in the grasp for West Point until Hayden drove 90

yards for a TD and got a 2 point conversion late to snatch victory from the Warriors.
The Warriors fell to 0 & 5 with Hayden ending a 4 game losing streak.
Lynn 35, Cold Springs 16: Homecoming from Cranford Stricklin Stadium ended with the Eagles

going down 28 to 8 by the half vs. the No. 10 team from 1A football.
Cold Springs is 3 & 3 going into October. Brendan Voce's Eagles are 0 & 3 at home and 3 & 0

on the road.
Idle on Friday evening were Fairview (4 & 0), Hanceville (1 & 4) and Holly Pond (2 & 3).
