FAIRVIEW: Eli Frost caught a lot of attention in the 2022 football season for the Fairview Aggies for excelling in the running game.
As a junior, Frost ran through the opposition for 2,484 yards, averaging 10.5 yards per rush and would get into the end zone 39 times.
His ability in running allowed Fairview to win seven of its first eight games and play Russellville for the AHSAA 5A, Region 8 championship.
As he prepares for his senior campaign with the Aggies, Frost is recognized as the WKUL FM prep athlete of the week.
On Thursday, September 8 of the past season, Frost let it be known of how amazing he could be to George Redding's offense.
Against the Good Hope Raiders in the WKUL FM Game of the Week, Frost rushed for 332 yards and scored 4 touchdowns with the Aggies winning by the final score of 27 to 6.
His most spectacular run was from 95 yards in the third quarter that put the game out of reach for the Aggies.
Against the Brewer Patriots October 7 at Dafford Smith Stadium, Frost produced 7 touchdowns, rushing for 381 yards with Fairview routing the visitors from Morgan County 55 to 13.
His last game of 2022 was strong as he was back in the Fairview backfield after he missed the regular season finale vs. Randolph due to an elbow injury.
Frost tallied 225 yards in the first round playoff against Guntersville, scoring a touchdown,
But the Aggies were unable to come out on top with Guntersville ending the season by a 24 to 13 decision.
Frost was selected as the Cullman County coaches MVP, a member of the Gamedayweekly.com all performance team, all region and all state.
Frost was a finalist for Class 5A back of the year by the Alabama Sportswriters Association (ASWA).
The Aggies and Frost can begin fall workouts on August 7. The 2023 opener will be at Smith Stadium August 25 against the Columbia Eagles from Huntsville.
Last year in the opener with Columbia from Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville, Frost played the first half, gaining 102 yards on 8 carries and 4 touchdowns in a 51 to 0 rout. His first half sparked the Aggies to a 37 to 0 advantage as the game was carried live by the Flash on WKUL.com
In the past two regular seasons, Fairview has gone 16 & 4 with Frost a high percentage of their success. They are undefeated in 5 games vs. Cullman County schools, Vinemont, Good Hope, West Point and Holly Pond.
