For many, the atmosphere of the Cullman County High School basketball tournament can be compared to "March Madness" in the NCAA men's and women's tournament.
One week of excitement is composed from a great neutral venue, Tom Drake Coliseum at Wallace State Community College.
Getting ready for the 32nd time teams, players, coaches, fans and the media to see the quest of being the best with the chance to cut down the net once the tournament is done.
Yours truly has endured the tournament every year since the CCBOE and Wallace State came together in a business relationship.

Cold Springs Lady Eagles:
Strength - Ella Dickerson as a scorer.

Must have - scoring support from Kenadi Graves, Paizley Whitlow, Hollyn Bruer. Regain momentum after 6 game winning streak was stopped January 14 at home to Danville.
Cold Springs Eagles:
Strength - Solid offensive play from Ethan Day, Ayden Black.
Must have - consistency on both ends of the floor. Eagles have improved with 5 wins in their last 6 games for new coach Adam McKinnon.

Fairview Lady Aggies:
Strength - Team scoring with it coming from PG, SG and WG.
Must have - Solid rebounding on defense due to lack of size. Minimize mistakes from ball handling and fouls.

Fairview Aggies:
Strength - Blake Rickard to lead the team in point production.
Must have - Steady play by rest of the personnel. Aggies have shown they can play well away from home with early season win at West Point.
Good Hope Lady Raiders:
Strength - Ava McSwain in her ability to score from 15 foot jump shots to deep threes and at the FT line.
Must have - Others to provide scoring in key situations. Play with confidence for the fact of a possible 4th straight championship is in the grasp.
Good Hope Raiders:
Strength - Two solid scorers in Tucker Malin and Tyler Cone, both now with over 1,000 points in their career.
Must have - Solid play from the guard position, create up tempo and fight off a slump of 3 consecutive losses in a span of 11 days.
Hanceville Lady Bulldogs:
Strength - Consistency in the attack mode offensively from Aaliyah and Alex Twitty.
Must have - More scoring from others on the floor and handle pressure defensive play.
Hanceville Bulldogs:
Strength - Two accurate scorers in PG Drake Bentley and SG Peyton Twilley.
Must have - No lapses on offensive possessions. Play with passion for Bulldogs play Holly Pond the 2nd time in a span of 3 days.
Holly Pond Lady Broncos:
Strength - Ava Thomas, Millie McBee, Madison Butts, Maggie Nail to cause matchup issues.
Must have - Execution and keep players to avoid early game foul trouble.
Holly Pond Broncos:
Strength - Cade Allbright in the post, Sawyer Olinger at PG, Carson Ryan as a perimeter shooter.
Must have - Consistency in the paint on both ends of the floor. Plenty of positive plays and few on the negative.
Vinemont Lady Eagles:
Strength - Scoring from Reagan Robinson, Caroline Miller and Morgan Flanagan in their 3 guard lineup.
Must have - Good ball handling when getting into up tempo play. Understanding the expectations for being the 2nd seed, the highest for the Lady Eagles in years.
Vinemont Eagles:
Strength - Young team that has hard working people such as Bryson Bush, Colton Gillis and Gee Flores in looking to improve every time out.
Must have - Low unforced mistakes and avoid foul problems to their impact performers.
West Point Lady Warriors:
Strength - Scoring duo of Jaelyn and Camryn Faulkner. Hard play in the paint by Laklin Shadix, all out hustle from Caitlee Simmons and Patton Fell.
Must have - Good ball handling when the opportunity to speed up the game is there. Stay out of foul problems, especially early in the game.
West Point Warriors:
Strength - Jay Lamar as a scorer from outside and attacking a defense, Maddox Chapman with good skills in the post.
Must have - Consistency from the FT line, staying focused and not letting the opponent get into any scoring spurts. Others add to this being a sound team as they come in with the No. 1 seed and everyone else trying to deny them of a great week at Wallace State.
