GDW Analysis:
ADDISON: Former Cold Springs hoops standout Triston Chambers has been named new coach at Addison High School.
This took place Tuesday, Gameday Weekly has learned.
Chambers built his quality as an outstanding shooting guard at Cold Springs. Chambers was named the winner of the Joe Shults award during the 2016 Cullman County tournament.
Chambers claimed 1st team all state honors from his sophomore season through his senior year before he accepted an offer to play at Samford University. He played prep hoops for Tim Willoughby at Cold Springs. The Eagles won the 2014 Cullman County title when Chambers was a sophomore. His three year record in high school was 68 wins, 26 losses and two area championships.
Chambers played there for a couple of years then moved on to the University of Alabama Huntsville.
From the coaching ranks, Chambers was on the first staff of Stu Stuedeman at Cullman. That was in 2022 when the Bearcats would earn their first AHSAA championship.
Chambers has stayed active in coaching travel basketball, working with NC Premier under their organizer, Branch Whitlock.
Chambers replaces Scott Flynn who coached Addison to the 1A, Area 13 championship last season and a berth into the sub regional round of the playoffs.
Addison will play under Chambers in Area 13 the upcoming season, facing Meek, St. Bernard and Cullman Christian in area play.
