Work continues on new gym floor at Cullman Christian School:

CCS in the process to have new gym floor ready for fall sports:

GDW Analysis:
Work continues on getting the new gym floor at Cullman Christian School ready when fall sports arrives in approximately three weeks.
Gameday Weekly paid a visit to the campus Tuesday evening.

The school received the new floor back in June for it being formerly of the Boston Celtics' G League team that plays in Maine.
Principal/athletic director Heith Yearwood and others were doing transition work around the edges of the floor to the hardwood.
The floor will be stripped down with a new paint color to match the color of CCS, a light blue type with black edges.
Yearwood told GDW the volleyball team is currently using the Cullman Basketball Complex to conduct workouts.
This is the first year officially for Cullman Christian School into the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA).
CCS will be in 1A, Area 13 in volleyball with city rival St. Bernard Prep plus Addison and Meek from nearby Winston County.
The 2024 season for CCS volleyball opens on August 22 with a tri match at Vinemont High School. The Lady Lions will play Columbia from Huntsville and Vinemont on opening night.
CCS will be playing at home in the middle part of September, according to a schedule GDW was able to analyze.
While getting the floor ready for volleyball and basketball, Yearwood is also dealing with a task of finding anew basketball coach.
Mitch Morris stepped down a couple of weeks ago in accepting an offer to coach basketball at Good Hope Middle School.
Cullman Christian has gone through the process of 2 year probation with the AHSAA. Now they are eligible for postseason play in the sports of volleyball, basketball, golf and cross country.
CCS makes it 10 schools sanctioned by the AHSAA that are covered regularly by GDW.
Cullman County has more schools with the AHSAA, 10 in total than schools that surround the county like Morgan, Marshall, Blount, Winston and Walker.

Since joining the AHSAA, CCS has seen an increase in student enrollment with the school located near the Cullman County Sherrif's Department at approximately 250.
Cullman Christian and St. Bernard faced one another last year in volleyball and basketball. Now the stakes are more intense for the two schools are placed in the same area in these team sports,
