This marked the 50th anniversary of the Cullman County VB tournament. It started in 1974 and Good Hope was the first winner defeating Holly Pond in the finals.
Good Hope has four consecutive Cullman County VB championships.
The last two has been where Good Hope was not seeded 1st.
Last year, the Lady Raiders were 3rd as they would get through 2 seed West Point and 1 seed Fairview for the title from Lane Horton Gym in Hanceville.
Thursday evening, the Lady Raiders showed everyone how a 4 seed can go on a run and be the best.
Good Hope swept West Point nine days after the Lady Raiders lost to the Warriors in a quad match at Vinemont.
Natasha Holder's Lady Raiders edged Meagan Cagle's Lady Warriors in a close first set.
From there, Good Hope played with less flaws than West Point in winning by eight points in the 2nd and a double digit triumph to complete a sweep.
Steady play by Carley Adams, Jolee McHan and Campbell Koch set the tone for Good Hope. Giving support in a series of positive plays were Caselynn Whatley, Jordan Sanders, Emma Herring, Chloe Eisner and Mattie Wix.
Once the Lady Raiders had the lead in the 2nd and 3rd set, they were to the point of unstoppable.
Good Hope has 20 wins on the 2024 season.
