FLASH FACTS:
Good Hope understood its role as being the 4th seed following 3 losses last week in a quad match from eventual top seed Vinemont.
The Lady Raiders used their experience from championship play before as Jolee McHan, Campbell Koch, Chloe Eisner and Carly Adams learned from what they were last year in getting good lessons by 2023 grads Ivey Maddox, Charly Johnson and Emma Bailey.
Their experience and having Molly Johnson, Emma Herring, Jordan Sanders and Caselynn Whatley combine for plenty of positives, the Lady Raiders eliminated the No. 1 seed in four games in the semifinals from Felton Easterwood Gym.
After Vinemont tied it with a 25 to 21 win in the 2nd set, Good Hope was more superior in Game 3 with a comfortable 25 to 12 triumph. The Lady Raiders then made it happen in the 4th set as an ace was the match winner.
This was only the 2nd time Vinemont had lost in a regular season type event. Seven of their defeats have been though weekend tournaments.
West Point has hit a peak as well. The Lady Warriors use the effort from the sidelines of coach Meagan Cagle and the team is showing progress from assignment to assignment in recent time.
The Lady Warriors swept Fairview, but each set victory was accomplished for providing a little bit more than the Lady Aggies.
Unfortunately for West Point, the Lady Warriors had adversity when PB Fell reportedly hit her head onto the floor while trying to make a play on the front row.
Bell received treatment by an Encore trainer and was assisted from the gym after the match, most likely heading to a hospital for further examination.
When the team finished the sweep, the quickly rushed to where Fell was, showed support and also provided by a prayer to lift her spirit.
