Good turnout for youth hoops camp at Good Hope:

GOOD HOPE: Having an instructional basketball camp right after Memorial Day has been a regular item for the Good Hope hoops organization.
Sixty four youngsters, entering the 2nd grade to the 7th grade, got started with the first of two days of hoop learning inside the comfort of Good Hope Gymnasium Tuesday morning.
The camp is presented by Good Hope basketball, coordinated by head coach Drew Adams with assistance from his coaching staff of Scott Adams and Griffin Morris, plus current and former Raider and Lady Raider players.
Seen by GDW while on assignment was recent graduates Ivey Maddox, Heather and Bailey Tetro. They serve as an impact to younger people for bringing a first time AHSAA state championship to the school in Southwest Cullman County.
Adams told GDW he was pleased with the turnout, in order for the participants to understand many phases of the game through fundamental situations and team competition.
Each participant was to receive a complimentary basketball to take home with them.
These type of camps allow an understanding between the teacher and the pupil. It displays the hard work of Adams who has guided Good Hope to the Cullman County championship four of the last six years.
The camp is two days with three and a half hours spent on the hardwood.
The camp closes out on Wednesday, starting at 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
After this week, Adams, like many high school programs, will set their sights on a busy June for playdays.
For the Raiders, the opener will be on Tuesday June 4 at Supreme Courts in Guntersville.
The Raiders will head to the University of Alabama team camp that weekend.
Good Hope will host a playday on June 10, using the Cullman Basketball Complex as its site,
