Pennington takes advantage of HV mistakes to claim area win:

BLOUNTSVILLE: Hanceville Lady Bulldogs had a winning game plan Thursday in the AHSAA Class 3A, Area 13 playoff with JB Pennington.
But the Lady Bulldogs did not have a winning execution.
Eight turnovers in the final 8:00 was the difference to see the Lady Bulldogs' season end with a 52 to 44 loss.
Hanceville was out for victory in the area for the first time this season.
Christina Watson's Lady Bulldogs put together a solid outing in staying with the Lady Tigers.
A turning point was at the end of the 3rd when Pennington guard Kylee Weems got a steal and followed with a layup. That gave the Lady Tigers a 41 to 33 advantage.
Hanceville could not overcome the issue. They managed to trim the lead to 49 to 44 late in the game on a three by Kynzlee Parr.
Alex Twitty was called for her 5th foul with 1:54 remaining as her absence would be vital to the Lady Bulldogs aiming for an upset of the higher seed.
Weems hit three of four from the line in crunch time to lead Pennington with 15 points.
Freshman center McKenzie Sansing added 11, freshman Bryleigh Harrison and senior Summer Hawkins scored 9 with freshman McKenna Yarbrough scoring 8.
Twitty was sound for the Lady Bulldogs, scoring 17 on 6 FGs, 2 treys.
Mattie Keith found her stroke in long distance shooting with 4 treys and had 14 points. Parr tossed in 7, Piper Butts and McKenzie Aaron had two.
Hanceville finishes the season at 9 & 15.
Pennington improves to 16 & 5 and will play 1 seed Vinemont at Vinemont Friday 5:00 p.m. in a semifinal.
