Last Friday for FB in September facing a schedule challenge:

Hurricane Irlene could cause issues with this week's schedule:

GDW Analysis:
For the 2nd time in the last 3 weekends, a hurricane is on the path of causing adverse weather conditions for prep football games to be played.
The schedule for games on September 27 remain as this story was written by Gameday Weekly Thursday at 9:20 a.m.
Five games are set for the final Friday of the month. Three schools are idle for this week.
One game got its site changed, due to possible situations that they game may not be able to get played if it stayed where it was to be played.
Brewer Patriots and Cullman Bearcats will now play Friday at Mark Britton Field/Oliver Woodard Stadium. The two are playing for the first time since 2017. This will mark the return of Matt Plunkett coming back to Cullman. Plunkett coached the Bearcats in 2018.
The game will be available to tune in to on 98.3, Praise FM.

Elsewhere for Friday:
Addison (3 & 2) at Good Hope (4 & 0): Raiders have a strong opponent to visit James Shabel Stadium for their homecoming.
Good Hope has allowed 16 points in 4 games with the opposition not scoring against them in the last 7 quarters.
The Raiders shut out Cordova 21 to 0 last week. Addison had a 3 game winning streak stopped by Hackleburg in a regional game 30 to 14.

The game will be available to tune in to on 92.1 FM as the WKUL Game of the Week.

Lynn (4 & 1) at Cold Springs (3 & 2):  Lynn got placed into the Top 10 of 1A football Wednesday. The Bears have been a winner in their last 3 assignments, having back to back shutout wins against Pickens Co (6 to 0) and Sumiton Christian (35 to 0).
Cold Springs is 0 & 2 at Cranford Stricklin Stadium while the Eagles are 3 & 0 as a road team.
The game is available to tune in to on WKUL.com

Vinemont (4 & 1) at West End (0 & 5): Back on the road goes Vinemont with its 4th game away from Mark Smothers Stadium this season. The Eagles have played at Southeastern, Phil Campbell and Midfield. Now they visit Walnut Grove in Etowah County in out to continue a very good start to 2024 play.
The Eagles have never gone 5 & 1 under coach Stephen Robinson. Vinemont is sound in running the ball and takes advantage of opportunities.

West Point (0 & 4) at Hayden (1 & 4): A solid rivalry between a pair of 5A teams from Cullman and Blount counties continues Friday.
This will be an opportunity for both to put together a strong effort despite not having great weather for the 21st meeting between the two.
West Point was idle last week in working on plenty of things after they lost 40 to 0 to rival Lawrence County on September 14.
Hayden has scored two touchdowns in its last four games, all losses. The Wildcats got blanked at home a week ago to Carver Birmingham 40 to 0.

 Idle this week:
Fairview (4 & 0)

 Hanceville (1 & 4)
Holly Pond (2 & 3)
All games will kick off at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
