Baseball: Fairview over Brewer 15 to 5 Aggies grab Game 1 of 5A, Area 15 series against Brewer. Aggies are 3 & 2 in the area standings. Series continues Thursday at Brewer. JB Pennington over Hanceville 5 to 1 Pennington is the winner in the opener of this 3A, Area 12 series. Game 2 will be Wednesday at Hanceville. The winner of the series will be 2nd in Area 12 behind Vinemont. Winston County over Cold Springs 4 to 1 Winston County has a 1 to 0 lead in this 2A, Area 11 series. Game 2 will be at Donald Freeman Field in Cold Springs Thursday. Russellville over West Point 5 to 2. Warriors will finish the 5A, Area 14 series with the Golden Tigers Thursday at West Point.
Good Hope at East Lawrence (no report)
Softball: Good Hope over West Point 12 to 2. Lady Raiders defeat the Lady Warriors a week after they claimed the Cullman County tournament crown in Vinemont. Good Hope is 14/4/1 on the season. Vinemont over Holly Pond 5 to 0: Vinemont improves to 5 & 0 and leads 3A, Area 12 play. The Lady Eagles play Hanceville at home Thursday in an area game at 4:30 p.m. Jasper over Cullman 6 to 0 Jasper clinches the top seed for the upcoming 6A, Area 13 tournament with a win at Cullman. Cold Springs over Winston County 9 to 8 Fairview over Hanceville 14 to 8
