Monday's AHSAA area championship schedule:

Local hoops very active with title games on February 3:

GDW Analysis:
For Monday, February 3, local basketball will be very active in the AHSAA area playoffs.
Five gymnasiums will be hosting area championship play.
Another site will have a semifinal game going on.
The area playoffs are the first of the segment of the "Road to Birmingham" for AHSAA basketball.
Monday schedule:
2A, Area 11 (G) At Cold Springs 5:00
2A, Area 11 at Cold Springs 6:30
3A, Area 11 (G) at Vinemont 6:00
1A, Area 14 (G) at St. Bernard 6:00
4A, Area 13 (G) at Good Hope 6:00
5A, Area 15 (G) at West Point 6:00
6A, Area 13 at Cullman 6:00
       (SF - Jasper vs. Mortimer Jordan)

 5A, Area 14 at Guntersville 7:30
       (SF - Fairview vs. Guntersville)

 Cold Springs Lady Eagles, Cold Springs Eagles, Vinemont Lady Eagles, St. Bernard Lady Saints, Good Hope Lady Raiders, West Point Lady Warriors were regular season area winners. That gave them home court to host the area round.
Area semifinals in girls in 4 & 5 team areas were played on Friday.
Excitement was in a great atmosphere with playoffs being at Vinemont for the first time in 20 years. St. Bernard was delighted to roll out the welcome mat in 1A, Area 14 girls.
Good Hope has become a regular as a site for area playoffs on the ladies' side.
Cold Springs & West Point are in a 3 team area. Cullman is too with the Bearcats waiting to play the winner of Jasper vs. Mortimer Jordan Wednesday at Bearcat Arena.

 Those advancing to the area championship qualify for the sub regional round.
The area winner will host in the sub regional vs. an opponent from an opposite area.
AHSAA has listed girls sub regional games will be played Friday with the varsity to take place Saturday. Tip times are set at 6:00 p.m. by the AHSAA.
