Locally, four teams have earned a berth to the 2024 playoffs with each being a runner up in their respective area.
GDW is represented by 4 schools in 4 different classifications with each set up for the opening round in the best of a 3 game playoff series.

Holly Pond, Vinemont and Fairview are in the playoffs in 2024 after unable to make it from the previous year.
Hanceville clinched a playoff bid last weekend in taking two of three from county foe Good Hope to finish 2nd in 4A, Area 11 to the Ashville Bulldogs.
Springville last weekend defeated Fairview twice in earning the 5A, Area 11 title and home field for round one of the playoffs.
Vinemont was unable to take down Decatur Heritage, finishing 2nd to the Eagles in 3A, Area 14.
Holly Pond put together a good effort in claiming the 2nd berth to the playoffs from 2A, Area 12. The area champion is Locust Fork.
A team with great baseball playoff tradition not far away, will host a first round series in Class 6A. The Hartselle Tigers get the Homewood Patriots to visit Reuben Sims Field. The series will start with games at 4:30 & 6:30 Friday. Game 3, if needed, is a 12:00 p.m. first pitch on Saturday.
