Postseason play is now here for Wallace State softball and baseball.
Both made their normal run of being a qualifier for the postseason and set their sights on accomplishing their goal later this week.
Wallace State softball will be in the ACCC Tournament from Veterans Park in Alabaster.
The Lady Lions go into the postseason the top seed for a 19 & 5 record vs. conference opposition.
Coach Lauren Stewart's Lady Lions will play the winner of Shelton vs. Northwest Shoals at 12:30 p.m. Thursday on Field 2.
A victory there and they are on to the winners bracket round Friday at 1:30 p.m. from Field 1.
Coastal South is the 2 seed, Snead State 3 and Southern Union 6 in the bracket opposite of the Lady Lions.
Wallace is 32 & 12 overall with a 7 game winning streak in trying to claim another conference championship.
The tournament will go through Sunday with an if needed game scheduled for 10:30 a.m. The winner qualifies for the NJCAA tournament.
Baseball:
The Lions earned an 18 & 18 record in the conference, finishing 6th to be in this year's South District Tournament from Choccolocco Park in Oxford.
Randy Putman's Lions are seeded 7th in which they face Delgado of Louisiana in the opening round Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
The Lions will play on Friday at either 1:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. vs. Snead or Coastal South.
The format is double elimination with eight teams, six from the ACCC and two from the Louisiana region.
Shelton is the 1 seed with the Bucs to get Nunez from Louisiana Thursday at 1:00 p.m. In the bracket with Shelton is Northwest Shoals and Southern Union. They will begin the tournament with a 10:00 a.m. game Thursday.
Championship play is set for Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with an if needed contest to be on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the ball park located in Calhoun County.
