HANCEVILLE: Wallace State Community College continues to be a site to enjoy AHSAA basketball around a holiday.
The New Years' Classic is Thursday from Tom Drake Coliseum with five local programs to be a part of the festivity.
This year's event has solid competition with five girls teams ranked and three on the varsity side by the state sportswriters association.

Danville and Belgreen girls get the day started with a matchup of teams ranked in their respective class.
West Point Lady Warriors will have to deal with good guard play from Clements, Gameday Weekly saw Clements get past Russellville 47 to 45 Monday in the West Morgan Classic.
Good Hope and Dora teams tangle once again.
The Lady Raiders were 1 & 2 in a weekend trip to Destin, Florida.
Good Hope finished 2nd in the battle on the beach at Destin, losing to a Kentucky team on the final play of the game Monday.
Cullman is hot with 4 consecutive victories, three coming at Homewood's Gymnasium last weekend.
GDW will have a report on each encounter and much more to get the 2025 portion of the schedule off and running with excitement.
