Cullman gets a split at home, scores from other games:

GDW Analysis:
  Prep baseball went on Saturday in spite of unpleasant weather conditions.
Cullman Bearcats had a doubleheader at Bill Shelton Field, playing for the 1st time in a week.
Good pitching from Bennett Johnson and Cross Bowen combined for a one hit 5 to 0 shutout of the Florence Falcons.
Johnson hurled 6 innings, giving up 1 hit, 3 walks and a game high 13 strikeouts.
Bowen threw a scoreless seventh with a strikeout in giving the 'Cats a shutout victory in their 2nd game of the season.
Hewitt Trussville delivered a 5 to 3 triumph to leave CHS with a sweep. The Huskies defeated Florence in the middle game of the day.
Hewitt jumped out to a 4 to 0 lead. Cullman's pitching gave up 1 one the rest of the way and got within 5 to 3 when the game reached the 6th.
Hewitt brought in a reliever to close a possible comeback by Brent Patterson's Bearcats.
