Showdown for No. 1 seed in Cullman County girls basketball:

Good Hope wipes out a bad 1st half with superb 2nd half effort:

GDW Analysis:
WEST POINT: One thing the Good Hope Lady Raiders showed Saturday night, they can win a basketball game even without Ava McSwain being their leading scorer.
McSwain was covered tightly by Laklin Shadix in the first half, scoring a FG right before the 2nd period ended.
Her teammates showed potential in providing Good Hope a 56 to 46 come from behind county rival victory over West Point.

That allowed the Lady Raiders to lock down the No. 1 seed for the county tournament to be played the week of January 20 from Wallace State.
McSwain stayed in a calm mode. Her associates showed toughness with Ella Gossett and Lexi Marshall combining for 22 points in the final half.
Wing shooter Sophie Konrad produced two big FGs in the final half.

Konrad had 14 in the game, giving the Lady Raiders 38 points between her, Gossett and Marshall.
McSwain managed 8 on the night.
Jolee McHan scored 6 and Lucie Adams hit for 4.
West Point raced to a 7 to 0 lead before Good Hope scored and led 20 to 14 after the first.
The Lady Warriors had good scoring in the first half by Jaelyn Faulkner with 13, Camryn Faulkner 8 and Patton Fell 7 off the bench.
West Point failed to score in the 3rd with Good Hope getting 20 on its side of the scoreboard to take a 43 to 36 lead into the 4th.
Camryn Faulkner had 15 for the Lady Warriors and her sister scored 13. Shadix managed 7 in the contest.
No. 1 Good Hope in 4A is 13 & 2, No, 4 West Point is 12 & 3.
