GDW Analysis:
Two weeks have passed for the Southern Youth Basketball League (SYBL) conducting play in its high school divisions.
The games are held at the Cullman Basketball Complex with varsity teams on the floor Tuesdays and Thursdays and girls stepping into the spotlight with games on Sunday afternoon.
Gameday Weekly has been to see two days of the girls and will appear on the CBC floor Thursday, looking forward to intense play by the varsity teams.
The numbers of high school players and teams are on the rise according to SYBL director Branch Whitlock. Girls hoops in this league have grown to 14 with 24 varsity teams using this time as a tune up before they get going with AHSAA workouts in mid October and the new season to start a week after Halloween.

Mortimer Jordan and Hills Warriors have 2 & 0 records going into the schedule Sunday.
Danville is 1 & 0 with MBuckets 2 & 1, while Arab, Good Hope, Holly Pond, Arab II and Section stand 1 & 1.
Fairview is currently 0 & 2 with Good Hope II at 0 & 1, ODS 0 & 2, Vinemont 0 & 1 and Cordova 0 & 0.
The next segment for high school girls will be at 1:20 p.m. Sunday from the CBC as 9 games are to be played.
The good matchups in analyzed by GDW will be Holly Pond vs. Hills Warriors at 1:20, Good Hope vs. Vinemont 1:20, MBuckets vs. Mortimer Jordan 1:20.
Fairview and Section battle at 2:05, Danville vs. Cordova 2:05, Arab and Hills Warriors at 2:50, Section vs, Danville 3:40.
