VINEMONT: A close encounter through halftime became a dominant performance for the Vinemont Lady Eagles Thursday in a 74 to 36 defeat of the Hanceville Lady Bulldogs on WKUL FM (92.1).
Vinemont soared like an Eagle, scoring 30 points in the 3rd and 44 for the final half after Hanceville stayed on their heels for the first 16:00 of pla
y.
Half a dozen Lady Eagles got into the scoring act in the 3rd with Vinemont hitting 10 FGs, 3 treys and going from a 30 to 24 lead at the break to 60 to 31 after time expired in the period.
The Lady Eagles got a quick in the 4th to create a hot clock the rest of the way.

 Emily Willoughby's Lady Eagles, 7th in the latest 3A state ranking, are 14 & 4 and tied for 1st place in 3A, Area 11 with Holly Pond at 5 & 1.
Vinemont and Holly Pond meet Tuesday in a showdown from Dwayne Adams Court at Felton Easterwood Gymnasium.
What kept Hanceville close through the first half was 13 points by Alex Twitty, six by Aaliyah Twitty and five from Mattie Keith.
The third for Vinemont was led by Reagan Robinson scoring 7, Morgan Flanagan hitting 6, Caroline Miller 5, Carley Stephens 6 and 4 by Vayda Yarbrough.
It would be Robinson that dropped in 20 to give Vinemont 8 wins and 0 losses from home this season.
Miller added 14, Flanagan scored 12, Vayda Yarbrough and Stephens 8, Brooklyn Yarbrough 6, Addison Holcomb 4 and Arleigh Thomason 3. Vinemont outscored Hanceville 15 to 5 in 2nd half field goals and made four shots from downtown.
Alex Twitty got 15 for Hanceville, now 7 & 11 and 1 & 5 in the area.
Keith and Aaliyah Twitty netted 9 and Kenzlee Farr finished with two.
