HANCEVILLE: Vinemont volleyball accomplished a feat that had eluded the Lady Eagles the last weekends.
Vinemont claimed a championship on Saturday, earning the crown in the Hanceville Invitational at Lane Horton Gymnasium.
Vinemont has 3 losses on its season with those coming while they hosted an invitational August 24 and August 31.
Now playing an invitational away from campus, coach Bobby Daniels' Lady Eagles compiled 5 wins against competition Saturday, sweeping each foe.
The Lady Eagles' wins in pool play were 2 & 0 vs. Cullman Christian, Brindlee Mountain and Gaylesville.
Seeded 1st in Pool A, Vinemont got a 2 to 0 sweep of Cullman Christian.
The Lady Eagles would deal with Hanceville who worked its way to the championship round.
Vinemont won 2 games to 0.
The Lady Eagles have won seven matches in the span of three days. Vinemont has not lost a regular season assignment so far.
Vinemont has been getting good play from Carley Stephens, Morgan Flanagan, Abby Kuykendall, Reagan Robinson, Aubrey Sandlin, Addison Holcomb, Caroline Miller, Ava Abernathy, Jayden Frederick and Mabri Smith.
Vinemont is at Locust Fork Monday for a tri match. The Lady Eagles play at home Tuesday in a tri match vs. Hanceville and Falkville starting at 4:30 p.m.
The 18 & 3 record is the best currently in local volleyball for 2024 play.
