AHSAA football practice officially starts Monday:

Teams that did not have a spring game can start practice July 29:

GDW Analysis:
MONTGOMERY: Practice for football teams in the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) can begin on Monday with one exception.
Teams that conducted a spring jamboree cannot start fall workouts until the first Monday of August (August 5).
So the Good Hope Raiders and Vinemont Eagles will have to wait until then in getting together for team organizations.
Cold Springs Eagles, Cullman Bearcats, Fairview Aggies, Hanceville Bulldogs, Holly Pond Broncos and West Point Warriors can be on the practice field Monday at the time they choose too.
The AHSAA rules, according to what Gameday Weekly knows, is the first three days of fall practice is shorts and helmets only.
Teams can go to full pads after the third day and move forward with the 2024 season right around the corner.
GDW is aware a jamboree will be played between West Point and Hanceville on August 16 at West Point Stadium.
GDW has been able to find out in research that Fairview will play Pisgah in a jamboree on August 23 from Dafford Smith Stadium.
The Hanceville vs. West Point game will be new head coaches leading their teams on the field.
Levi Estes has taken over in Hanceville with Kevin McCravy the new coach for West Point.
For the first week of 2024 local football, Cold Springs will visit Hanceville, Holly Pond plays host to Appalachian, Vinemont is at Mark Smothers Stadium to meet long time rival Falkville, West Point is at home getting a game with the Haleyville Lions.
Good Hope is scheduled to play a jamboree on the 23rd at Fyffe.
Cullman's 2nd year of the Danny Stiff era will see the Bearcats on the 23rd in Madison vs. the Bob Jones Patriots.
Cullman, Fairview, Vinemont and West Point were playoff qualifiers locally from the 2023 season.
West Point took a trip to legendary Legion Field in Birmingham for an opening round battle in 5A with the Ramsay Rams.
Fairview was the only local school to get a playoff game in Round 1 on campus for finishing 2nd in 5A, Region 8 at 5 & 1. The Aggies welcomed John Carroll Catholic to legendary Dafford Smith Stadium.
GDW and WKUL FM (92.1) is looking forward to 2024 football for what we have to present to readers and listeners.
