Cullman County Girls Final Four to be fun on Thursday:

  HANCEVILLE: This year's Final Four in the Cullman County girls basketball tournament has a lot of hype Gameday Weekly is looking forward to when it takes place Thursday evening from Wallace State's Tom Drake Coliseum.
Three teams step into this round of the tournament with recognition in being ranked in their respective class in the state prep poll.
Two teams have the same record, one is a victory behind these two and the other put away a losing streak in dramatic fashion during the quarterfinal round.
 
SF # 1: Good Hope vs. Fairview 6:15 p.m.
  Good Hope the 1 seed is 18 & 5. Fairview the 4 seed is 11 & 12.
Good Hope defeated Fairview 65 to 32 at Good Hope December 2. Lady Raiders outscored the Lady Aggies 37 to 15 in 2nd half after leading 28 to 17 at the half.
Good Hope was 6 & 0 in the county, Fairview won 3 and lost 3 vs. county competition.
Key matchups: Ava McSwain of Good Hope vs. Whitney Quick of Fairview, PG Ella Gossett of Good Hope vs. PG Darby Nichols of Fairview, F Jolee McHan of Good Hope vs. F Lexi Golden of Fairview.
Lady Raiders rebounded from a loss to Madison Academy January 9 with three victories in 4A, Area 13 last week over West Morgan, East Lawrence and Danville.
Fairview got a 43 to 36 victory Monday in OT at the county tournament against Holly Pond.
Quick scored 12 to lead the team, Nichols had 9, Davi Stidham got a big 3 point play to start OT and put Fairview on top to stay.

 Good Hope is 4th in the 4A poll.
Fairview has faced 7 schools currently ranked in the state poll - Cold Springs, Good Hope, Holly Pond, Vinemont, West Point, Scottsboro and Jacksonville. Lady Aggies have 2 wins vs. Holly Pond and 1 against Vinemont.

SF # 2: Vinemont vs. West Point 7:30 p.m.
  Vinemont is the 2 seed and 19 & 4, West Point is the 3 seed and also 19 & 4.
Vinemont defeated West Point 56 to 54 at Vinemont Gymnasium December 3.

 Vinemont got a 62 to 32 victory over Hanceville, West Point defeated Cold Springs 71 to 46 in the quarterfinal round. 
Vinemont is 8 & 0 in January, West Point is 6 & 0 this month.
Key matchups: PG Reagan Robinson of Vinemont vs. PG Jaelyn Faulkner of West Point, SG Caroline Miller of Vinemont vs. SG Camryn Faulkner of West Point, C Carley Stephens of Vinemont vs. C Laklin Shadix of West Point.
West Point is averaging 72.8 points for the month of January. Their high was 86 against Lawrence County and scored 78 vs. Clements, 73 vs. Cordova and 71 vs. Cold Springs.

 Vinemont played 5 games in the span of 7 days between January 14 to the 20th.
Last 3 games were wins of 72 to 27 over Brewer, 71 to 19 over St. Bernard and 62 to 32 against Hanceville.
Vinemont is 6th in the 3A poll, West Point is 5th in Class 5A.

Prior to the two semifinals, the junior varsity starts the schedule Thursday with No. 1 seed Cold Springs facing 4 seed West Point.
Cold Springs got a bye in the opening round, West Point claimed a 40 to 35 victory over Holly Pond.
Cold Springs was 5 & 0 vs. the county during the regular season, West Point had 2 wins in 5 decisions.
Special note:
  The Cullman County football coaches all county football team will be introduced to the crowd at halftime of the Good Hope/Fairview girls contest.
This has become traditional on ladies' night at the Final Four with everyone getting to see who earned honors on the gridiron in offense, defense, special teams and the coach of the year.
